𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘙𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘓𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝘓𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘈𝘭𝘦𝘹 𝘈𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘥𝘰

On January 27, 2021, GOCARE launched its second Mind Matters January session focusing on dealing with Unhealthy Thinking Habits for all interested Grade 11 and 12 students through MS Teams. 

The event had two sessions, the first one at 9:00—11:00 AM and the other at 2:00—4:00 PM.

The content of the session was published as a module on GOCARE’s Canvas page, which became accessible for registered students. The module’s main highlight is the facilitator of the event Ms. Christel Anne Dela Cruz’s presentation centering on unhealthy thinking habits. In the video presented in the first part of the event, she differentiated healthy thinking habits from unhealthy ones. She also discussed different mind traps and cognitive distortions that can cause toxic thinking habits. 

The interaction between the host and the audience was healthy and informative. The host provided advice to the audience’s question about mental health and any follow-up questions the audience had been readily answered too. The questions ranged from “What if someone else puts you in a guilt trap?” to “How can you help somebody get their way out of mind traps and cognitive distortions?”
