The Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand provides senior high school students the opportunity to explore the complexities of human society and behavior, equipping them with critical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills. This strand emphasizes interdisciplinary studies in Political Science, Media Arts, Psychology, Education, and Language and Literature, preparing students to analyze societal issues and contribute meaningfully to fields such as governance, education, media, and social advocacy. Through a combination of core subjects and specialized courses, students are encouraged to engage in social research, reflective inquiry, and creative expression, fostering a deep understanding of history, culture, and contemporary societal challenges.
Grounded in the core values of fortitude, excellence, and uprightness, the HUMSS program develops forward thinkers who are globally engaged, civically competent, culturally sensitive, and morally upright. Graduates are not only equipped with 21st-century skills but are also future-ready individuals who champion social responsibility, national pride, and ethical decision-making. Through student-centered learning, students hone their ability to navigate complex societal issues, advocate for positive change, and contribute to the nation’s cultural and intellectual growth while pursuing their chosen specialization.
