FEU HSSG carries out Handugan 2021 inside FEU High School | NEWS
On December 16, 2021, the FEU High School Student Government officers along with fellow student-leaders from Broadcasting Media Society and The Junior Advocate led the outreach program “Handugan 2021: Ipakita ang Ginintuang Puso” for FEU High School support staff at the Pavillion 2 of the FEU campus.
The event was carried out to thank the institution’s security, utility, and auxiliary personnel by distributing Noche Buena packages.
‘Handugan’ is a yearly Christmas event of the school’s highest governing body, the Student Government. This legacy project is already in its sixth year since its first implementation in the year 2016. Despite the adversities caused by the pandemic, it is the aim of this project, which is to show deep appreciation and gratitude to the non-teaching staff of FEU HS, that keeps its proponents to continue its legacy.
An engaging introduction was given by Ms. Charlene Wallingford, outgoing FEU HSSG adviser and the host for this event. Ms. Wallingford then called on Mr. Mark Andrew Elepaño, Director for Academic Affairs, to start the program with a warm welcome and acknowledgment to the support staff of FEU HS. He ended his speech with a heartfelt message saying, “Maraming-maraming salamat po para sa lahat ng ginagawa ninyo sa amin.”
After the opening remarks, each personnel was called one by one to receive their packages and take a photo together with the school heads. Among those who attended the event are Ms. Stepanie Ann B. Mutuc, Executive Director; Mr. Mark Andrew Elepaño, Director for Academic Affairs; Mr. Teofilo Bernardo L. Gonzales III, Associate Director for Academic Programs; Mr. Paolo Carmelo A. Victoria, Coordinator for Academic Services and Student Affairs; and Ms. Mary Help I. Paredes, Head of Student Activities Office.
Ms. Malen Bebes, a maintenance staff since 2017, expressed her gratitude towards the people behind the event stating, “Salamat dahil malaking tulong ito sa pamilya ko.” Another maintenance staff, Mr. Marlon Romero, indicated that since 2016, they have continuously received packages from the school: “Kahit last year nung pandemic na, may na-receive din po kami.”
After all 14 utility personnel received the packages, a special video prepared by the FEU HSSG was shown to further express their gratitude to the non-teaching personnel of the institution.
The event ended with a brief picture-taking with the school staff, students, and the utility personnel while strictly following the safety protocols.
