Harnessing Offenders’ Personal Empowerment (HOPE) is a flagship program of FEU Manila which aims to provide livelihood and improve the skills and well-being of persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Manila City Jail Female Dormitory. Through FEU High School’s Community Engagement and Extension Services (CEES), 100 PDLs and 50 employees of the Manila City Jail Female Dormitory received health kits given by the FEU HS community.

“We are honored to introduce Project HOPE to FEU High School in collaboration with FEU Manila. We are hand-in-hand in building and strengthening our holistic support to address the needs of our partner community whilst sharing the same vision and hope to the PDLs of Manila City Jail,”

Project Head Ms. Elaine Relucio said.

The personal care items contributed by the FEU HS community include alcohol, bath soap, shampoo, laundry soap, tissue, toothpaste & toothbrush, and sanitary pads. Volunteers from FEU Manila and FEU High School distributed and handed over the kits.

Through this partnership, it focuses on community-based assistance for reintegration following detention or imprisonment aside from skills training and education to avoid recidivism.
