Sibika Hub

About the Office

The FEU High School Sibika Hub is a vibrant civic education platform dedicated to developing informed, participative, and socially responsible young leaders. Officially launched on March 15, 2024, the Sibika Hub is among the pioneering youth civic education hubs established under Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed)—a project of The Asia Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Rooted in FEU High School’s commitment to nation‑building, the Sibika Hub prepares students to actively engage with society, think critically about social issues, and uphold democratic values beyond the classroom. Through dialogue, advocacy, and creative expression, students are encouraged to see citizenship not just as a future responsibility, but as a present calling.

What We Do

At the heart of the Sibika Hub are Democracy Talks, civic advocacy initiatives, and student‑led programs designed to help learners understand how society works—and how they can help shape it. These activities empower students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to participate meaningfully in a democratic society.

Core Civic Themes

Voter Education

Students explore what it means to be a critical and responsible voter in an increasingly digital age. Talks such as CTRL+D: How Young Filipinos Shape Democracy Online and BAHA(LA) NA examine issues like social media, disinformation, corruption, and comparative political systems—equipping learners to make informed choices and demand accountable governance.

History and Society

Through discussions like Dictator’s Playbook and DYNASTEAL: The Anti‑Political Dynasty Bill Forum, students gain deeper historical awareness and analyze how power, leadership, and political structures shape society. These conversations cultivate vigilance, ethical judgment, and an appreciation for democratic safeguards.

Gender and Development

The Sibika Hub fosters inclusion, equality, and respect for human rights. Programs such as Baklash!: A Fight Against Homonegativity and Transnegativity and emporHER: women, choice, and bodily autonomy encourage empathy, dialogue, and critical reflection on social attitudes that affect marginalized communities.

Arts and Culture

Recognizing culture as a powerful civic force, the Sibika Hub uses creative expression to deepen social consciousness. Talks like Weak‑ang Filipino challenge students to reflect on language, identity, and education, while initiatives such as PALIHAN: Poetry Writing Workshop nurture young writers who use art as a means of expressing social realities and collective aspirations.

The FEU High School Sibika Hub develops graduates who are not only academically prepared, but also socially aware, ethically grounded, and civically engaged. By participating in Sibika Hub activities, students learn to listen, question, collaborate, and take principled action—qualities essential to becoming better citizens and future leaders.

At FEU High School, democracy is not just studied—it is lived, practiced, and strengthened through the Sibika Hub.

Career Placement

Through equitable access to functional career guidance, students will be equipped with the necessary skills that will prepare them for employment or further education.

Consultation Service

GOCARE provides consultation service in which the professional expertise of the guidance counselors especially in the field of mental health, may be sought in the form of recommendation, facilitation, and collaboration. This service may be conducted with school administrators, faculty, students, and parents.

Research Evaluation

Research is a service-oriented activity conducted to discover new knowledge, to advance current knowledge, and to substantiate theory.

Program Evaluation is a program-oriented activity that seeks to collect relevant information and to measure the effectiveness of the GOCARE program and on to what areas or activities needs to improve.
