In this regard, we are excited to announce that FEU High School will conduct classes for S.Y. 2020-2021 in full Online Distance Learning mode beginning July 6, 2020.
Dear FEU High School Community,
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implemented in Metro Manila, we are faced with unprecedented challenges that affect our normal way of living. In this unusual time, FEU High School (FEU HS) would like to assure you that, while we remain committed to providing you with quality educational services, we also prioritize the safety and wellness of our students, faculty, staff, and the rest of our stakeholders.
For the past weeks, we have been listening to the concerns of our faculty, students, and parents. We conducted online surveys to gather your concerns and just like most of you, our utmost concern is ensuring we do not expose our school community to the hazards imposed by this pandemic. Our faculty and staff are working from home, our Guidance Office is providing Online Counseling and the Library is running a reading program. We suspended the entrance exam and onsite enrollment, relaxed admission procedures and document requirement submissions, and extended the enrollment until June 30, 2020. Academics has been researching, studying and training faculty to prepare for the next school year.
This unprecedented event has pushed us out of our comfort zones. We would like to believe that while this situation requires us to be resilient, it also provides us with an opportunity to be flexible and innovative. It also allowed us to re-examine our purpose, strengths and values. We reiterate the Department of Education’s (DepEd) belief that learning must continue and realize that we are in a unique position to contribute to this having been using a blended delivery of the curriculum since our inception in 2015. Through our Learning Management System, Canvas, we are able to offer our school community a choice to continue learning amid this pandemic.
In this regard, we are excited to announce that FEU High School will conduct classes for S.Y. 2020-2021 in full Online Distance Learning mode beginning July 6, 2020. We will utilize an asynchronous model of delivery with pre-announced synchronous activities to minimize the time that students need to be connected to the internet. In other words, we are minimizing the required online time of our students since most of our learning sessions and instructional materials may be accessed, downloaded, and learned in the preferred and most convenient time for students. This will continue until such time that it is deemed once again safe as we continuously assess and carefully search for ways and means to ease the concerns of our stakeholders.
We would like to assure you that we are doing our best to make this transition to the “New Normal” easier and more convenient for all of us. We will continue to strive, do our best, unlearn, learn, and relearn until we succeed, even braver, in this unusual phenomenon. May this event strengthen our camaraderie and we humbly beg your cooperation, understanding, and compassion.
Thank you and keep safe, everyone!
