Kacey Canlas triumphs both individual and team categories in the competition.
FEU High School Grade 11 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand student Kacey Canlas bags two gold medals for Poomsae Individual and Team category at the Palarong Maynila last February 24, 2023. He competed against players from public and private schools in Manila.
Poomsae is a type of Taekwondo which showcases a series of self-defense forms and techniques combined to create various movements and patterns to further improve both physical and mental strength and capabilities.
Canlas shared his thoughts on how FEU Manila and FEU High School helped him prepare for the event. “Discipline, patience, and time management are important in any sport as it also helps in character building. The core values helped me boost my mindset especially during training,” Canlas said.
His regular training starts from 10 in the morning at the Alfredo Reyes Hall (ARH) gym and trains after his classes. Moreover, Canlas is an Athletic Scholar of FEU High School.

He is set to represent the country for Freestyle Poomsae for the Asian Taekwondo Federation (ATF), an international sport event this March 2023.
Palarong Maynila is an inter-school competition between participating private and public schools in Manila organized by the Manila City government.
