Ambitious is a word that perfectly resonates with me. I am interested in the medical field and I hope to become a surgeon someday. My dream is to establish a program that prioritizes the health of children and the elderly. These big ambitions of a young person like me may seem impossible, but this desire is what motivates me to become more studious and optimistic.
I chose FEU High School because of my sister’s influence. It was she who recommended FEU High School because of the opportunity to study with a scholarship grant. The scholarship is my ticket to enter a prestigious school which can help me build a good foundation for my future. Getting a scholarship also lessens my parents’ expenses and worries.
To be honest, I found the curriculum of FEU HS Junior High School Program to be heavier than I imagined. We attend synchronous classes, accomplish PETAs or performance tasks, and learn new materials on a daily basis.
The most challenging task of all is taking part as a leader in class activities even if I prefer doing activities alone without the need to ask for anyone’s suggestions. This is what I consider to be most productive and helps me accomplish tasks on time. The PETAs made me realize that working with a group allows everyone to contribute and broaden our perspectives. I became an active listener, and I was able to adapt to the new style of learning. I am now able to manage my time wisely and study even harder. These all happened because the teachers helped me believe in my capabilities and did not let my shortcomings hinder me.
Moreover, FEU HS’ coding curriculum helped me improve my critical thinking skills and familiarize myself with the technology that is necessary in today’s digital age.
I’m deeply honoured to share my story as a 13-year-old with big dreams and a bright future ahead. Thank you, FEU, for being my anchor.
