“Thank you, FEU HS for recognizing me and giving me the chance to be your student and scholar. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to prove myself, to study harder, to be future-ready, and to become a competitive individual.”

FEU High School is Grade 11 STEM student Mary Cuenca’s dream school. As soon as she learned that she qualified for FEU HS Academic Achievement (AA) Gold Scholarship, she knew that she’d be looking forward to countless knowledge, experiences, and opportunities that will help her achieve her dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon.

Qualifying for the scholarship meant a lot for Mary, especially during the pandemic. It was only her elder sister, an FEU Alumna and an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), who was providing the financial support for her education. With the scholarship, her family is hopeful to be able to save enough money for her college education.

She once thought that she would pursue HUMSS in senior high. Her interests in literature, and socio-civic activities when she was in Junior High School made her consider becoming a Criminal Lawyer but her growing interest in science and human anatomy brought her to the decision to pursue STEM and take a pre-med course in college.

Mary was a very active student. In JHS, she competed in singing contests, declamation contests, and was a member of the Student Government, Girl Scout of the Philippines, and Music Club. Now, as a student at FEU HS, she continues to gain more experience by participating in various school activities. Mary is currently serving as the Vice Mayor of her Grade 11 STEM class and the Documentation Archives Associate of the FEU HS Student Government. She is more than excited to learn, live, and experience the FEU High advantage, and have fun while learning with her old and newfound friends.

“Thank you, FEU HS for recognizing me and giving me the chance to be your student and scholar. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to prove myself, to study harder, to be future-ready, and to become a competitive individual.”
