Basketball, Table Tennis, and Chess players from seven high schools in Manila participated in this year’s Camp Tamtam Sports Edition 2023 last April 29 at the Alfredo Reyes Hall Gym. This is the first interschool tournament organized by the Admission and Financial Assistance Office of FEU High School.

Surprise mentors FEU Tamaraws Head Coach Dennis Ellera “Denok” Miranda, FEU Chess Men Team Captain Hans Ezekiel Olorosisimo and FEU Table Tennis Team Head Coach Noel Gonzales gave their warm welcome and shared their sports journey with the players from Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo High School, Carlos P. Garcia High School, Florentino Torres High School, Ponciano Bernardo High School, Potter and Clay Christian School, Ramon Magsaysay High School, and Lakan Dula High School.
“Camp Tamtam 2023 wants to give a spotlight to all talented young Filipino athletes who have the potential to shine in the podium in the future. This activity is not only providing them opportunities that help them show their abilities but also emphasize the importance of camaraderie and sportsmanship in any competition like what a true Tamaraw athlete is,” said Admissions and Financial Assistance Senior Director Dr. Michelle S. Acomular.

The best players of each sport were awarded after the friendly matches. Representatives from Ramon Magsaysay High School and Camp Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo High School won the men’s and women’s chess competitions, respectively. For the Table Tennis and Basketball category, players from Lakan Dula High School and Florentino Torres High School brought home the bacon.
“We hope that through this experience, you are much more energized and motivated to work hard to achieve your aspirations in the world of sports. FEU is deeply committed to supporting our talented athletes towards their sport ambitions,” Acomular added.
Camp Tamtam is an annual event that offers engaging and informative activities for students. This event is sponsored by Dorayd Bola ng Pinoy, Benby, Basta Inihaw, Jhocsan Marketing, Jewelpro, Reyjane and Gracelen Textile stores, and FEU Employees Labor Union.
