ADC and Music Society bests amongst university institutes and received special awards

FEU High School’s Adhiraya Dance Company (ADC) and Music Society, two of its performing division student organizations, win at this year’s Battle of Dance and Battle of the Bands respectively, making FEU High School the overall champion of Sayawit 2024.  

Sayawit is a sing-and-dance off among the Institutes of the Far Eastern University (FEU) and FEU HS hosted by the FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) in celebration of FEU’s founding anniversary. Aside from outshining other groups and bands, Music Society also bagged the Best Cover special award and Adhiraya was also awarded the Best Choreography award and Best Attire award. 

FEU High School’s ADC’s President, Marianne Stephanie Gargar, expressed her sincerest thanks to all those who bolstered the team’s abilities and trust. “We are filled with gratitude all throughout the preparation until the end of the competition. You are one of our motivations to push through because you have shown us the kind of faith that you have for our team. To the FEU HS community, thank you for allowing us to represent our institute. Through your constant support we were able to step out there and compete.” 

Both organizations shared that aside from the time constraints, they were all under tremendous pressure because the institution won in the previous Sayawit competitions. Despite feeling physically worn out, some team members persisted in pursuing their ambitions to win the contest. 

However, they noted that the key to their success was their teamwork and the guidance of their coaches, alumnus, and especially their organization advisers, Mr. Jelord Panaguiton, Mr. Alomar Amsah, and Ms. Carmela Magpile. 

“Juggling with their busy schedules, they still made sure to respond to our concerns and help make the progress of our training faster. We are deeply thankful for their support because without their help and presence, the happiness and soul of our performance would not be the same,” Music Society’s President, Elayne Pia Abreu said. 

ADC and Music Society, along with other performing and visual art organizations of FEU High School, are set to perform onstage to show more of their talents in their upcoming concert for a cause, Paglaum Piyu 2023: A Hope Giving Concert, on February 21, 2024, at the FEU Main Auditorium.
